Protect yourself when you rent an airplaneProtect yourself when you rent an airplane

UPDATE:  A new date has been set for this webinar—Aug. 7!

AOPA Insurance Services will host a webinar on renter's insurance Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. (It originally had been scheduled to air July 24.)

Most renters and borrowers of aircraft do not understand the need for renter’s aircraft insurance or what it can do for them. They believe, often erroneously, that the FBO or friend from whom they rent or borrow an airplane is insured—and that they are also covered. More often than not, the FBO or aircraft owner does not provide adequate coverage to the renting pilot, if any, putting the renter at huge financial risk.

Renter pilots are often confused by how much coverage they actually need; what the limits, sub-limits, and deductibles should be; and how to select the right options. To help cut through the confusion, AOPA Insurance Services President, Bill Snead, will provide answers to your questions about renter’s insurance. After all, if you don’t understand it, how can you make sure you have the best policy for you?
